A field-day will be held today at the property of this years winners of the Property Brokers Tararua Sheep & Beef Farm of the Year.

Matthew and Marilyn Prior, who farm at Makuri, were crowned winners earlier this year.

The field-day begins from the Makuri Country Club at 9.30 this morning, with quad bikes and standard side-by-sides needed for the tour of the farm itself.

Spokesperson Trudy Hales says as it is genuine hill country, anything with a long wheel base will be unsuitable.

She says hopefully they will get across the whole farm, but this will be weather dependent.

The cost to attend is $15 per person, with the day a fundraiser for the Makuri Church and Domain.
